First Contact Physiotherapists
When to see your First Contact Physiotherapist
- First Contact Physiotherapists (FCPs) are highly trained physiotherapists, usually based in GP surgeries.
- FCPs have extensive experience in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions – such as back or neck pain - and see these patients without the need for a GP appointment.
- If you have bone, joint or muscle pain, you can see an FCP
What to expect when you see your FCP
- Your FCP will assess and diagnose you.
- Give you expert advice on how best to manage you condition.
- Refer you onto a specialist service if necessary.
How do you book an appointment to see your FCP?
- Simply contact your GP practice and request an appointment to see the FCP. The reception team will check that you’re suitable and book an appointment for you

Freezer Clinic
We offer a freezer clinic held at the surgery. We can treat most things which include:
- Warts
- Verrucae
- Superficial blood vessels
- Lumps and bumps

Long Term Health Conditions
We currently provide monitoring clinics and services for all patients with a current long term health condition (Chronic Disease Monitoring). These include Asthma, Atrial Fibrillation, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Epilepsy, COPD, Kidney Disease, Dementia, Hypertension, Hypothyroidism etc. It is vital that patients attend monitoring on a yearly basis to ensure that your medications/treatments are treating your condition effectively.
Minor Surgery
We offer a minor surgery clinic held at the surgery. We can treat most things which include;
- Moles
- Spots
- Superficial blood vessels
- Lumps and bumps
- Cysts
- Ingrowing toe-nails

There is usually a 3 month waiting list for all procedures. Please ring the surgery to confirm the appointment. If you do not confirm the appointment it will be offered to someone else.
Sexual Health
We offer certain sexual health screening here at the surgery which include things like, swabs, chlamydia screening etc. Please book an appointment with the Nurse.

Shingles Vaccination
Shingles Vaccinations are now available at the surgery for all patients born on or between:
- 2nd September 1943 to 1st September 1944
- 2nd September 1935 to 1st September 1936
- 2nd September 1934 to 1st September 1935
Unwell Baby/Child
The surgery has a policy to see and treat all unwell babies/young children. If you are concerned regarding the health of your child please contact us ASAP to arrange to see a GP.
Weight Management
Reducing excess weight has positive benefits for your long term health. If you would like to discuss any weight concerns and are motivated for change, please make a 20 minute appointment with our Nursing team.
Young Adults
Did you know:
You can request and attend your appointment with no parent/guardian present. We would, of course, hope you have discussed any issues with your parents/guardians first, however, what you tell us will be kept confidential if you wish.
- Appointments can be arranged with either a female or male GP - just ask!
- Let us know if you want us to improve anything, or ask us any questions. It is anonymous and we will feedback via a poster in the surgery
- Prescriptions for contraceptives are FREE!!
- We can offer and give emergency contraception in the Practice
